Lawn of Oklahoma City Firefighter Painted with Patriotism

The Oklahoma City firefighter cut and painted several signs of patriotism into his grass in his annual tradition.

The yard outside an Edmond home of an Oklahoma City firefighter was painted with pride for the Fourth of July.

"I don't think there's a problem with spreading a little patriotism," Oklahoma City firefighter Jared Kesler told KOCO. "I mean, if there's a day to do it, what better day than today?"

With help from his kids, he cut out and painted stars and an eagle in his front yard. He also wrote "We the people" as part of the yard art.

"I kind of always am out in the yard working," Kesler said. "All the neighbors probably thought I was crazy with spray paint at nine o'clock at night."

Kesler began decorating for the holiday his previous home, where he would cut a flag into his lawn and he continues to hone his skils each year.

"I took a stab at it and, actually, I'm pretty proud of it," Kesler said. "So, I think it's kinda turned into a thing that I'm gonna have to do maybe bigger next year."
